Principles

Every feature, design decision, and product choice in Corelato is guided by a set of core principles.

These principles help us stay focused on what matters and avoid building features that do not support our mission.

Corelato exists to help learners organize, connect, and retain knowledge throughout their learning journey.

Everything else is secondary.

1. Every Feature Must Support The North Star

Features should help learners organize knowledge, connect ideas, retain information, and achieve learning goals. If a feature does not support those outcomes, it should be questioned before implementation.

2. Learning Comes First

Many products optimize for engagement. Corelato optimized for learning. The goal is not to keep users inside the platform as long as possible. The goal is meaningful educational progress.

3. Sync Is Not A Premium Feature

Learners should be able to access their information wherever they study. Cross-device synchronization is a core capability, not a luxury.

4. Users Own Their Data

Notes, flashcards, study plans, and learning resources belong to the learner. Corelato should never create unnecessary barriers to accessing or exporting personal data.

5. Privacy By Default

User content should remain private unless a learner explicitly chooses to share it. Privacy should be built into the platform from the beginning.

6. No Ads Or Manipulative Design

Users are not products. Corelato should avoid manipulative design patterns that prioritize engagement over learner success.

7. Collaboration Should Add Value, Not Noise

Community features should support learning and knowledge sharing rather than competing for attention.

8. AI Should Assist Learning, Not Replace It

AI can help organize information and reduce repetetive work, but learning still requires effort, understanding, and practice.

9. Corelato Should Stay Affordable

Pricing should focus on accessibility, fairness, transparency, and long-term trust.

10. Build For Solo Learners First

Before building for institutions or large organizations, Corelato should excel at supporting individuals learners.

A Commitment To Learners

These principles are not marketing statements.

As Corelato grows, features, techologies, and priorities may evolve.

These principles exist to ensure the platform remains focused on helping learners organize, connect, and retain knowledge.
